The Bauer Media Audio UK news team has won an incredible seven golds at the Commercial Radio News Awards – more top awards than ever before!
The ceremony is held every year at Sky News headquarters in Osterley, London and celebrates the very best in commercial radio news.
There are 12 awards open to commercial news teams across the UK, which means the Bauer news team won in more than half of all categories.
It was a remarkable “hat trick” for Micky Welch, who has won Regional Newsreader of the Year for the third year in a row.
Aileen O’Sullivan was named National Newsreader of the Year – for the second time in three years – for her standout work on KISS morning bulletins.
Clyde 1 took the Best Sport Coverage award for “Scotland’s Greatest Night”, celebrating the men’s football team’s achievement getting to the World Cup finals.
ɲɲMick Coyle’s fascinating “Lost Souls”, about how hundreds of family members from generations gone by were lost in the era of asylums.
The South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire news teamɲrecognised twice, once as News Team of the Year and again for their coverage of the tragic murder of a local teenager in the Best News Coverage category.
Molly Tulett, the reporter who scored millions of views on socials with her coverage of the recent Glasgow fire, was named Newcomer of the Year.
